Since 1905, the Boardwalk in Venice has provided humble amusement for the masses, namely a "Circus By The Sea."

     Stretching from Marine Avenue (previously the site of Santa Monica's historical Pacific Ocean Park) to Windward Avenue, this ever-changing beach front environment provides a playground for the people. It is a place where the vital street culture not only survives but flourishes as well. While other boardwalks tend to redevelop and gentrify, the Venice Boardwalk remains as a monument to civic bohemia. The term "Boardwalk" evolved from it's orignal walkway which was constructed of wood.
